After breakfast, Gypsy and I head off to La Maison Arabe's off-site country club facility to relax by the pool . . . read, catch-up on email, work of photographs, and possibly swim. It is a clear sky, hot day as we take the raid's shuttle about a 20 minute drive away.
The property appears to be narrow and deep as we walk along a garden path, stopping to photograph the women making fresh bread in an outdoor covered area. Much to our delight we are offered samples that are yummy! Further up the garden path is a pavilion that houses La Maison's second cooking school facility replete with cooking stations and an outdoor patio for entertaining. Still further, we come to an outdoor kitchen and just beyond the pool.
Upon being greeted, we are invited to tour the facility which includes tented day beds that line both sides of the pool, a manor house that holds entertaining facilities, changing rooms, and lavatories. There is also a lovely and inspiring tented pavilion that has sliding glass doors on three-sides and is also used entertaining. Immediately in my minds-eye, I am rethinking our much talked about and never built pool house at home . . . perhaps Moroccan themed? ? ?
Then it is time to "nest" for the afternoon. Deborah eyes one of the day beds while I settle myself in one next to hers. Propped up on the pillows, my book, iPad, and spa bag sprawled around me within easy reach. A waiter brings cold water and delicious fruit smoothy. This is exactly what I needed to do today . . . nothing!
